The University of Campinas (Universidade Estadual de Campinas) is a public university in the State of São Paulo, founded in 1966. Enrolment in 2015 is more than 40,000 students, around 40% of them at the grdauate and postgraduate levels. The university has over 1,700 faculty members and is responsible for 15% of all Brazilian research. It is considered, with the University of São Paulo, one of the two best universities in Latin America. The University of Campinas has several engineering schools and faculties and has since its creation always cooperated closely with major international companies. It joined the T.I.M.E. Association in 2014.
