POLITECHNIKA WROCŁAWSKA/Wrocław University of Technology was founded in 1945. In May 1945 a group of 27 professors from the University of Lviv arrived to Wrocław.In the destroyed buildings of Technische Hochschule Breslau, which had existed since 1910, they started the Polish academic society. Since the very beginning of its existence, it has been an important centre of technical education. Today it is one of the best technical universities in Poland – over 35 000 students study here under the guidance of 2 000 academic teachers, at 12 Faculties. Wrocław University of Technology is an autonomous university, a research institution of a university type. Its mission is to shape creative and critical personalities in students and to chart directions for the development of science and technology. Goals Adjusting the University operation to its social and economic environment. Priority to education quality and commercialising the results of research. Educational system that meets social, economic and labour market needs.
